After celebrating yet another fantastic year of high quality hip hop, the Raw Side Hip Hop Awards for 2022 are in! We have devoured over 530 projects in the past twelve months, written countless reviews, share an abundance of bangers and delivered our dope ass dozens – 12 nominees for 12 categories. But, as they say, there can only be one winner, and now the time has come to crown the top ranked in each category. It’s not something we take lightly – we have a loyal and supportive following and we aim to rep the realest hip hop we can find and give the underground an outlet for their craft. However, we don’t really separate the bigger players from the indies, because these cats DESERVE their names to be next to the Conway’s, the Benny’s, the Nas’ etc. The indie / underground rap culture is as good as any music being made in the world – and you can take my word for it, or you can go peep my spreadsheet and listen to the 530+ projects and let me know what you think….
