Speak the Rebel Slob Ross

Speak the Rebel should be on your radar these days. 2020 saw him drop ‘Vidal Baboon and on the highly political Inauguration Day he delivered the epic ‘Red, White and You’ joint – and now we get the Slob Ross EP.

The maniac of Massachusetts rap, Speak drops a banging six-song joint that features G Fam Black, Force and Vorheez but is otherwise held down by the enigmatic emcee himself. Complete with ‘pig grunting adlibs’. In addition to ‘Red, White & You‘ listeners get ‘Weirdo Rap‘ featuring G Fam Black, the incredibly uniquely titled ‘Riley Reid for President‘, ‘Slumping 100aire‘ with Force & Vorheez (and brilliant soundbites from ‘Devils Advocate’), ‘Bury Me a G‘ which is a Rasta-funk infused banger and ‘Scumbag‘.

Although just 6 tracks, this is a whirlwind of a ride. As the album art accurately depicts, this is some cooked up ish, Frankenstein meets Willy Wonka if you will. And it’s not only engaging and entertaining – it’s really good quality hip hop. But don’t take my word for it, go and cop this from Bandcamp and see for yourself.
