REVIEW | Sha-Elemental – The Dichotomy

sha-elemental the dichotomy

The S, H, A hyphen Sha-Elemental has just dropped his album ‘The Dichotomy‘ and it’s a killer joint complete with some crafty rhymes, head nodding beats and a great vibe throughout. You’ve probably already heard the single ‘Ultimate Warrior‘ but this is far from a one hit wonder. For almost 30 minutes, Sha drops quality bars, commanding the mic and exploring a range of topics for material.

The conversational style flow Sha-Elemental has, really suits the neighbourhood narratives he uses to mould his tracks into thoughtful and engaging listens. In fact his delivery is part LL Cool J and part Lloyd Banks which means he can spit the harder tracks like the ‘The Dichotomy (Intro)‘, mix it up and nail a smoother, R&B infused joint like ‘Something I Said‘ featuring Lomel OR drop an incredibly honest, deep and introspective number like ‘Bad News‘ and keep it a hunnid.

This album is basically The Dichotomy Of Man in Hip Hop form and a lot of my own dirty laundry being aired out to dry, but in an almost therapeutic way for me personally” says Sha.

It features strong production from DC The Midi Alien, Myster DL, @thebeatnerd, Silly Grinn, NStrumental, and Mainstream Assassin with very few features which was a focus for Sha. “In my eyes this project will speak for itself and really let people know who I am and some of the things I’ve seen and been through and cement myself as an MC to be taken seriously” he states.

Bangers: Leave Me Alone, Kibbles & Bits, Bad News, The Dichotomy (Intro)

Score: 8.5 / 10. A really enjoyable project that explores a lot of different topics with authenticity and an honest approach. The bars are on point and Sha-Elemental has a versatile flow that works so well over a host of different production styles. This joint has already had a handful of plays and will get plenty more and S.H.A hyphen is on the watchlist!
