Ruste Juxx just works and works, releasing nothing but dope ass music and doing it on the regular. You could bang nothing but new Juxx tunes for a full day and still not be up with everything the talented lyricist has dropped in 2020. And as a fan of that street rap, boom bap style of hip hop, I am forever grateful for the Sean Price protege.

This time, we get production from Amadeus 360 The Beat King, and to say it’s a perfectly suited soundtrack for Ruste’s street tales is an understatement. He has crafted that boom bap sound, but added some of the slickest and sickest samples – as evident on ‘Go Krazy‘ which is a scorching hot track. The synergy between beats and rhymes on this joint really is life.

Another absolute banger of a joint is the track ‘Yeah I Said It‘ featuring Skanks the Rap Martyr. It’s a brilliant pairing and Juxx turns it up another level just to really spit darts as hard and as vengeful as I’ve heard. Skanks is right there too, bringing hard bars over a funky, hard slapping head nodder.

Poetry’s Deep‘ with the Nas samples, might just be my favourite moment on the entire album. This track is flawless, hypnotic and just transports me back to the 90’s and the Illmatic vibes. It’s been on repeat plenty a time as I just listen to Juxx ‘lace s**t lyrical’. Brrrrat!

I’m not even made that this is only 11 tracks long and clocks in under 30 minutes because Ruste Juxx puts out fire projects and I know I don’t have to wait long to hear another 16 from him somewhere! The samples from the golden era – Big L, Nas, ODB, Notorious B.I.G, Gang Starr etc. This is a genuine classic.

Bangers: The aforementioned joints – Poetry’s Deep, Go Krazy, Yeah I Said It.

Score: 9.5 / 10. As the review states, it’s a hard album to fault. A brilliant blend of reminiscing, use of iconic and classic samples, concrete cracking beats and hard rhymes. It’s dope AF.
