MISTERDILLINGER Underdawg

MISTERDILLINGER is back with his third producer album ‘Underdawg‘ featuring a brilliant range of dusty, boom bap production and a host of microphone slayers who only know one thing – torching mics. The Queens, NYC producer delivers eight tracks to get the head nodding, and that serve as an audio canvas for the enlisted emcees to bring their street poetry and poignant bars.

Where I’m At‘ gets the album underway with a nice, soulful joint that sees Monday Night deliver his dulcet tones over the top in a super smooth manner. Nitty Blanco lends his voice and street / social commentary on ‘Nitty’s Interlude‘ before we get Fastlife spitting that money talk on ‘Fast Money‘ with his braggadocio bars spit with unrelenting confidence and purpose, then it’s The OG Ninja and Sofaking team up on ‘Indifferent‘ to spits sixteens over delicate production that just dances on the ear drums.

Fastlife is back on ‘Dangerzone‘ as he adds extra edge to his verbal darts, ethering people from behind the mic at a high rate, then Sofaking graces ‘Who Done It‘ this time in the spotlight all by himself as he spits that real street game and takes aim at the industry. ‘Pose To Be‘ is a triumphant track, the upbeat vibe, the crisp snappy drums… then you get brilliant bars from Madhattan and Fastlife who work together as a ‘fresh, flashy and fly’ super duo. When the keys sprinkle over the intro to ‘Did You Think‘, you know something special is brewing and two of the illest in the game right now – Rome Streetz & Rigz – get mad busy spitting street vernacular and repping their roots.

Bangers: Did You Think, Pose To Be, Where I’m At, Dangerzone.

Score: 8.5 / 10. This is a really dope project and another in a long line of kick ass producer albums for 2022. It’s also another stellar effort for MISTERDILLNGER who has a knack for creating crisp soundscapes and then picking quality emcees to light these tracks up. Fastlife, Madhattan, Rome Streetz and Rigz are the standouts, but the whole project deserves to get plenty of ears around it.
