REVIEW | Juxx Diamondz – Lord Knowz Vol. 2

Juxx Diamondz Lord Knowz Vol. 2

Brownsville emcee Juxx Diamondz is back with a new album ‘Lord Knowz Vol 2: Don’t Be Scared… Be Frightened‘. The hardcore, heavy hitting and spitting Brooklyn artist always delivers when it comes to putting it on wax and the latest album showcases more of that concrete splitting, head nodding, riot inciting music – with some introspective balance to create a really brilliant offering.

Juxx takes his craft seriously, and his enigmatic flow on the microphone shows his passion for the craft, the culture and his content. You can’t help but be engaged by each and every track on this 14 track, 41 minute album. Equally at home spitting street tales and hard body anthems as he is delivering impassioned, poignant rhymes, Lord Knowz Vol 2 is one joint you’re going to have to give multiple spins to.

The album kicks in your door, with rugged joints like ‘The Real‘, ‘Obnoxious‘ and ‘The Best‘ from the get go. Head nodding, stank face making, speaker cranking joints that just get you going. Think M.O.P, Biggie, Sean Price, Beanie Sigel and a few others that really got you out your seat and mean muggin. Even when the tracks start to slow down and mix up the listening experience, they still capture your listening with well-placed keys, husky / gruff change up of flow.

Juxx Diamondz shows incredibly versatility in both his pen game and flow. This ensures the listener is committed from the moment they put this joint on, until the moment the Outro is played. Not all albums or artists have the ability to create a complete ‘no skips’ joint that also has replay value, but ‘Lord Knowz Vol 2: Don’t Be Scared… Be Frightened‘ is exactly that.

Bangers: The Best, Obnoxious, American Dream, Come At Me, The Real Speaks, Strings on Timberlands.

Score: 8.5 / 10. This is a really solid project and worth copping and giving ample airtime to. Juxx has the kind of flow that I really enjoy and the album is robust enough to have cut-through even when there is a LOT of dope music coming out right now. This is one you should add to the collection.
