Cas Metah Writer Fluid EP

Cas Metah teams up with Theory Hazit for a classy little EP titled ‘Writer Fluid‘ featuring seven tracks designed to get that head nodding and to provide the mental with some intelligent stimulation via the music. We gave the people a taste of what was to come when we featured the lead single ‘Cop Out so it’s only right we circle back and peep the whole offering!

The title track ‘Writer Fluid‘ kicks this EP off with a bang. The production is really solid, mixing some dusty notes in there with hand claps that get the mood moving. Cas Metah comes for the jugular from the jump too, his enigmatic flow captivating the listener and his wordplay and lyrical content making you sit up and take notice. ‘Cop Out‘ is a more triumphant track with a soul-funk infusion and dope features and then ‘The Viking and The Villain‘ takes over with Kurupt using the mic as his own personal pulpit to not only spit BARS but to send a message on a deliberate and powerful soundtrack which seamlessly builds into Cas’ flow and intricate cadence. Cas enlists Aceyalone and A-Plus for ‘Stripes-Remix‘ and each emcee steps up and matches the effort and intelligence of Metah’s first verse.

It’s a more lounge / soul feel when ‘Slapp Boxx‘ hits the headphones, the deep baritone flow of Sharp-One makes you sit up and take notice, before Cas and Genesis Da God destroy the mic with their own verbal viciousness. ‘Bar Fight‘ is a dusty, boom bap delight, which has a little velvet glove on the iron fist as Cas Metah flips his vernacular to destroy all comers, as opposed to strictly bullying the booth. Finally, ‘Worldwide‘ closes out the EP with an upbeat, fun-vibe having joint that speaks to Cas Metah’s love for hip hop, which is evident in each of the seven tracks we’ve just spun. It also echoes a strong message that we’re starting to get out there – HIT THE BANDCAMP AND SUPPORT THE REAL!!!

This is a different and refreshing offering and Cas Metah has a presence on the mic through his engaging voice and high-quality lyrical content. Theory Hazit nailed the production, giving us just enough variety to maintain interest, while keeping the album coherent and consistent from start to finish. To put it simply, this one needs your time and ears. Now.
