Long Live DJ Shay

If you know Benny The Butcher then you will know how important the late great DJ Shay is, not only to Benny personally but the success of his career and Benny being the Rapper he is today! Two years after the collaboration with DJ Drama Benny The Butcher and B$F are back with another project and this time it has a plethora of guest features from producers and rappers to quench anyone’s dry ass thirst for that hard Street rap and it’s entirely mixed by Young Guru so it’s gonna bang in any system. With production from Alchemist on the track titled ‘Pandemic Flow’ featuring Conway and DJ Premier on ‘Times Is Rough’ with Benny doing what he does best you already know it’s about to pop off.

The project gets the jump off with an intro but even that pops off with a classic drum break snare, a sick b line with WSG hyping it up with Fuego Base dropping some bars as the intro ends. ‘Shay Face’ is Benny The Butcher and Rick Hyde spitting straight lava over a key drenched beat produced by Digga. ‘297 Parkside’ is so smooth with slick bars from Stove God Cooks, Elcamino and Rick Hyde, this track is on point trust! ‘Danger Zone’ is a hard dramatic street opera banger by B$F henchmen Heem B$F and Rick Hyde who also produced the beat and features OT The Real. ‘Pandemic Flow’ is definitely a stand out track of the album and not only because the beat is hard as hell but also due to the fact it’s ferocious in every way. ‘Bastard Child’ is a Heem B$F solo joint but who joins forces with Rick Hyde and Benny The Butcher on a Preemo beat ‘Times is Rough’.

DJ Shay has one produced beat on the project and that is ‘Mustachios’ which Heem B$F jumps on again and with features from Boldy James and Chase Fetti it’s definitely a banger and has a raw guitar sample that slaps. ‘Li-Lo’ is a beautiful track and especially if you grew up on Bone Thugs as it features Krazie Bone along with Elcamino and Loveboat Luciano. ‘Bigger B$F’ is an absolute banger with B$F getting Griselda’s first lady Armani Caeser to Slay the track too. ‘Mr. Pyrex Man’ is Benny The Butcher’s banger as he close the curtains on a solo tip and damn does he go out with a bang and even though the beat may be trap crossover with its tight trap drums and a gritty 808, the actual keys sample is hard and the track is fuego.

Verdict: 10/10 If you love hardbody street shit and reality rap with hard beats and savage bars then this is gonna be an album of the year contender for you and especially for me as this is my type of ish and of course Benny The Butcher is one of the best of this era and anything he’s involved in is golden.
