Flee Lord Lord Talk Trilogy

“Work ethic legendary” Flee spits on ‘Line Stay Buzzin‘ from his new album…. “I’ve been droppin classics month after month” he continues on the track and never has a truer word been spoken. Flee Lord has been hard to keep up with in 2020, as it seems he has lived in the studio and used all his non tour & show time to write dope rhyme after dope rhyme.

Lord Talk Trilogy‘ is yet another example of how to make classic hip hop music. Introspective, at times a fine blend of cocky / confident rhymes, hard beats with intricate samples and sounds (and sweet cover art!) Flee Lord has his claws in the game and he’s just not letting go. Even after delivering a million projects, you STILL want more, to hear the next verse, the next rhyme, the next quotable. And for me, that’s such a rarity and it’s why we know Flee is special.

His hardcore flow has even the most uptight fan rocking a snarl and stankface as the domination that is Flee Lord overwhelms playlists around the world. The gritty, grimy nature of his records is iconic, instantly transporting you to a street corner somewhere – and this album doesn’t let up from intro to outro. Guitars, horns, big heavy bass….. creating those concrete shaking soundtracks for Flee’s street tales. It’s got it all. But, if the reviews for Flee are starting to become repetitive – his music is anything BUT.

At the end of ‘Supply & Demand‘, Flee talks about finding his sound and how he started his journey but has progressed as an artist over time. We’ve been right there on that journey, especially in 2020 when I felt there is no way he could top ‘The People’s Champ’ with Pete Rock…. But here we are with Lord Talk 3.

Bangers: Real Recognize Real, Line Stay Buzzin’, Hell or High Water

Score: 9 / 10. Hard to believe we are still giving these joints such high scores, by now, other artists are scraping the bottom of the barrel or bringing in weird features or remixes to bolster their catalogue, but not Flee Lord. He’s in the zone right now and he just can’t miss.
