Twenty minutes of some of the best hip hop release in 2021. There’s no other way I can really sum up the ‘Royal Flush EP’ from Johnie Bee & Rasco. Produced by Grim Reaperz, this takes me back to the golden era of hip hop. Banging beats, scratches, samples….. real head nodding ish that provides the perfect canvas to some hardcore rhymes from dope emcees. High praise? Maybe, but if you haven’t given it a spin, you’re going to have to. It’s everything I love about hip hop all wrapped up in one EP. Sure, it’s only 5 tracks (and the instrumental versions of each track too) but they BANG and captivate you instantly.
My only complaint is that I want more. 10 tracks would have been awesome, and then the instrumentals on the flip side (because yes, the beats are actually so dope they deserve to be recognised for what they are!). But rather than focus on this, let give flowers to one dope AF project from Johnie Bee, Rasco, Grim Reaperz and the featured artists.
